The only thing I have noted now is that the keyboard and mouse seem to be working normally for both reboots, whereas up till now its been a reboot until it sorta works. But so far I have not detected a missed key event. Fingers very very carefully crossed in case the pile of stuff I did install, trying to make solaar work, was the actual problem in the first place.
