Please note that, in general, such explanations are appreciated 
especially in situations when it might not be clear whether a certain 
package is eligible for backports or not.

Anyhow, giving the big picture of why certain backports are being 
uploaded is certainly of interest to the broader Debian backports 
community as well. So, thank you for your contribution.
