We just discussed this very topic at our last DeBUG meeting... I know of at least one report of a sysadmin over here having NFS failures when they populated their SMP motherboards with more than 1 CPU. We are going to investigate AFS to see if this solves that problem, although a kernel upgrade may be all that's needed here.
