I found my problem:
$CHROOTEXEC /usr/bin/dpkg --purge lilo
is explicitely done in
/usr/lib/pbuilder/pbuilder-createbuildenv
I don't understand why you're removing it. In any
case, I've just added it back in on my list of extras.
