Once you have the first node set up (the master node), adding client machines can be enabled through a couple of mechanisms, the most popular of which is booting your unformatted machine from a special boot disk which arps for awhile and then configures your hard drive to the specifications of a "golden" node. This bypasses the need for making sure you have your network cards set up correctly first (since you don't need them for etherboot).
RedHat does it with Kickstart, Scyld does it with beoboot. There are a couple of tools Debian folk use (including FAI which seems to be pretty popular here). But decide which System Mangement tool you want to use and that will streamline the process.
