TCP_NODELAY does it. Use setsockopt(2)/getsockopt(2) to change the setting, like in
int s = socket(...); int val = 1; int len = sizeof(val); int status = setsockopt( s, IPPROTO_TCP, TCP_NODELAY, &val, &len ); There don't seem to be any /proc/sys/net/ipv4 file available to change the setting. I don't know how that translates to MPICH, you possible have to hunt down socket(2) calls in the source.
