I'm helping a small college setup a small cluster. Before we've used redhat here. I was just wondering if anyone could toss me the list of packages that are designed for use on clusters.... I did notice the tasks for nodes and such in the 2.2r3 installer. I just dont knwo the name of the packages thigns are contained in.
I'm a regular debian user, and would prefer to install debian instead of something else. are there any special configuration utilites that make setup easier? I'm also lookign for some straight forward sites that help set things up. like do i use lam or mpich? etc... also any news sites would help. i found a awesome news site, and lost it. it had posting spread out about 3 weeks or so apart. the latest ones were about mosix and some compaq cluster winning over intel and sgi.... anyone? -- Michael Brancato Engineering Computing Services Unix System Administration 280 Anderson Hall University of Kentucky
