Instead of increasing it unconditionally, I guess it could be polled a few times, until the desired result or a given timeout (a few seconds might be needed apparently?) is reached. Doesn't sound too hard, and doesn't impose an overhead for systems where that only takes a few milliseconds. Mraw, KiBi.
