Package: partman-crypto I'm running Debian on a 1.6 GHz atom netbook. According to hdparm, the raw disk can read at over 60MB/s, while the encrypted disk can only do 20MB/s using cypher aes-cbc-essiv:sha256.
It'd be nice if partman-crypto could offer (with all the usual warnings) a selection to use a weaker but faster cypher.
