(This tiny hack still works in sid to set/check DPMS-related settings, e.g. using “xset dpms force off”, or “xset q”.) It appears that doesn't prevent blanking in kvm when dpms=false is passed on the kernel command line, but the same setting seems to work fine in virtualbox. I haven't debugged that any further (besides noting that DPMS was indeed not enabled in both cases according to Xorg.0.log). It would probably be nice to check that this name doesn't conflict with any kernel-side parameters, and whether that's an appropriate name at all. Comments are welcome. Mraw, KiBi.
