Comments/Problems:
I've done the installation in expert mode
Problems installing boot loader:
I choose to install lilo on the master boot record and it asked me
"Would you like to make this partition active?"
The default was "Yes". It seemed quite a strange question, but I sticked with
the default, and it told me it had failed. Repeting lilo installation and
changing the answer to "no" worked. Anyway I think that lilo shouldn't ask
that question if installing on the mbr.
Reboot problems:
Rebooting hotplug tried to load the drivers for my hardware: this resulted
in a kernel panic while trying aic79xx. I had to manually disable hotplug
to make the system work...

I wouldn't be sorry. ;)
Thanks for the quick follow-up, closing accordingly.
