reassign 279134 grub-installer tags 279134 + pending thanks The error is caused by the get_serial_console function and occurs only if there is no 'console=' parameter in /proc/cmdline (after '--').
The bug can be solved by properly quoting the statements in this function. I have corrected this in SVN.
