I reinstalled my Amiga with a netinst cdimage downloaded on november 16. There are still a few problems left, new problems... The StartInstall scripts on the cd do not find the vmlinuz file nor the initrd files, simple because the path is not correct in the scripts. I can discuss that with Stephen. With that fixed, the installation runs fairly smoothly, I did not get an IP with DHCP, but hostname and domain where set. This is probably due to my local network with two DHCP servers running. My freshly installed server does not have a complete config file yet, whereas my old desktop has. Nothing serious. The real problem is getting the network working after the initial install, the nic module is correctly listed in /etc/modules, but they are not loaded. During boot I get a message that /lib/modules.dep (fix path here) is not found. To me it looks as if modules from kernel-image-q40 have been installed, and not the modules from kernel-image-amiga. And even worse, on the CD I have a lot of kernel-image debs, but there is no kernel-image for the amiga, so I can not install this to get a working network. This is a major problem, if the net were working, I could send a proper installation report... The only other slight problem I noted where two segfaults shown on the third console, I think they happend when the partitioner was started, but I did not have any problems creating linux partitions on the new disk.
