The installation was quite painless, especially with the standard installer. However, being a control freak, I used the expert one and I encountered some issues. They were not really important but I think they deserve an mention: - The expert mode installer kept harassing me on loading unnecessary modules. I got it at least three times during the same installation. It wouldn't be so annoying if it kept reselecting what I have previously unselected, thought! Reproducted this behaviour on another machine (Athlon XP 2500+, 512MiB RAM, nForce2 Ultra 400 chipset). - I got three error messages stating that some Linux modules for controlling my hardware were not loaded yet. They were IDE modules for controlling tapes, floppies and SCSI emulation. - I got a kernel panic after reboot. However, I rebooted it once again and everything was fine. I didn't noted the exact error it but that's probably the sound codec, given that I have seen "i810" six or seven times in the dump. I had issues some issues with it in Fedora Core 2. - My wireless adapter was not detected but I believe I cannot blame the Debian team as Intel is distributing the firmware with a non-free licence, right? That's it! Feel free to contact me if you need more information on something. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
