I didn't see this addressed anywhere else in the current bugs list so I figured I'd follow up with this existing bug. The failure of the nvidia sata to detect attached drives seems to be related to a timeout issue. Rather than describe it here I'll provide this handly link that resolves some of the issues and includes patches that have resolved the issue for others. Basically the sata_nv module isn't working properly in 2.6.8-2.6.9 and the RAID functionality of the nvidia sata controller isn't available in previous kernels. I've verified this on several motherboards including the Abit NF7-S2 which only provides the nvidia SATA controller. The attached patches resolve the modules not seeing attached hard drives, and the reset failures of seagate drives. Specifically look at comments 4, 11, and 14. http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3352 Kyle -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBwl9DY9Ktksdnl5QRAgnCAKCq+CxAMZj/ehmNkNBwFAwiyypSGQCeJ5T2 /CBKlOiZpr/B4iIZvExUDGc= =bvk4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
