Package: debian-installer Followup-For: Bug #288522
i have been booting the debian-installer with the "linux26" command. if i install with the 2.4 kernel, the wlan works just fine. note that if i install the 2.6 kernel after installation of the 2.4 kernel, my wlan settings become messed up again and the wireless card doesn't work, but only when booting into the 2.6 kernel. the wlan works fine when booting into the 2.4 kernel. i had a hunch that the problem may have been with udev, so i removed it, but it didn't alleviate the problem. so, ultimately, the issue is that something is different with the 2.6 kernel. either how it handles pcmcia cards or something else. my wlan card is a pcmcia device. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (650, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.7-1-k7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
