I confirm that xorg.conf ends up with "fr-latin9" and this does not
work...:-|

Funnily *my* own xorg.conf contains:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Generic Keyboard"
        Driver "keyboard"
        Option "CoreKeyboard"
        Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
        Option "XkbModel" "inspiron"
        Option "XkbLayout" "fr-latin9"
EndSection

and this works pretty well while on a standard install with D-I, the
automatically configured layout is still "fr-latin9" and that layout
doesn't work properly (Shift/Ctrl particularly).

D-I actually configures console-data to use fr-latin9 by default. I
guess the problem is there as xorg packages use this as a basis for X
configuration.

Denis, what do you suggest? We *have* to sort this out or French
installs will be really broken..:)
