Package: debian-installer Version: 20060604 Severity: wishlist One of the first things I do before installing a new debian system is run memtest86+ on it for a while. I read somewhere that Ubuntu dapper's new installer has some sort of memory tester (I guess they have isolinux/syslinux launch memtest86+).
Has this been considered for d-i? The memtest86+ option is one possibility, but it's i386 specific. Another option might be providing a udeb of the "memtester" utility. I haven't used it but it appears to be a Linux userspace app and not i386 specific. So that might be a better fit for Debian.
