You don't say which version of the installer you are using... Is it the Sarge version, or the Etch Beta1 release, a weekly build or a daily build? Anyway, with older hardware, the following boot options may help: - install acpi=off - install noapic - install nolapic Or any combination of these three boot parameters, e.g: - install acpi=off noapic nolapic Note: if you are using the Sarge installer, you should use "linux" instead of "install".
