Additional information to bug #399573. Knoppix 5 (as reported) detects the sata devices as /dev/hda and /dev/hdc.
By booting the debian installer with install libata.xxx (or any other option libata does not understand, I found this by accident) the ata_piix module does not work (throws errors), and now the kernel detects the sata devices as /dev/hda and /dev/hdc (as knoppix). They are working, but slow. Then I tried ubuntu, and here the sata devices are detected without problems (but I still don't know why). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
