Well, but as far as i know, this makes little sense on powerpc, and more to the point, the 2.4 based powerpc kernel images in question, are non-existent in the archive anymore. If someone makes a custom installer, he will most probably not name the images by the older naming scheme used for sarge, no ? How will base-installer/kernel react if the user uses some random naming scheme for his custom kernels. Furthermore, i also had that understanding, but i remember vaguely having seen random cleanup happening for dropping 2.4 stuff. Has 2.4 compatibility installs been done recently ?
