I wanted to keep the lines for two reasons: 1) To make it easier to change it back, e.g. if Max did not agree with the change (I'm not sure what happens to translations if I remove the template entirely?) 2) Post-Etch we might want to add some new functionality which requires a certain amount of testing before I'd feel safe letting users rely on them.
