There aren't any recommended drives. As to spinning down the disk, there is some information on the NSLU2-Linux wiki: http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/FAQ/SpinDownUSBHarddisks > 2) In which USB port should I put the primary drive? With Debian it doesn't matter. > 3) I've read that NSLU2 could run out of available memory when installing. > I've read this page > http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Debian/DebianInstallerDisconnectsSSH and > was wondering > > 3a) a user say: "I got it to work on a 500GB partition by using "modprobe > -r" to unload the fat and vfat drivers". If it doesn't work, you could try to create the disk partitions on a PC, format them and then connect the disk to the NSLU2 and manually add mount points. > 3b) Will the swap space be used after the install? If yes, I guess > that will be a problem for the drive if I keep it on all the time? > How can I prevent that? Yes, it will be used. You really need swap given that the machine only has 32 MB of RAM. I don't think swapping is a problem with a hard drive - only with a flash stick. -- Martin Michlmayr http://www.cyrius.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
