Hmm. That is interesting. We have just recently added experimental support for Serial ATA RAID (fakeraid) in the installer. In our own tests, the physical disks were visible to the Linux kernel alongside the RAID disks, but maybe the BIOS you are using hides them somehow. Would you be willing to try this new support? You'll need one of the daily images of the installer [1]. Important information about how the support works can be found on [2]. You can reply with the results to this report. Please include the syslog of your installation (gzipped!) and the hardware summary (can be generated by using the Save debug logs option in the main menu of the installer).
