Package: debian-installer Version: 20080330 Severity: normal I'm installing a new system (intel DG33FB motherboard, core2duo, amd64) from scratch using netboot. This daily version at least recognizes the 8086:284c e1000 NIC, yay!
I'm installing on two 500GB SATA disks, and want the following layout: - /boot on RAID1 over /dev/sda1, /dev/sdb1 - / on RAID1 over /dev/sda2, /dev/sdb2 - LVM on RAID1 over /dev/sda3, /dev/sdb3 - /var on LVM - swap on LVM - /data on LVM I create the /dev/sdXX partitions, and mark them as linux raid. I then create the RAID1 devices. I then create /boot and / on the first and second RAID1 devices, and enter all the info about mount point, filesystem type, label, etc. I then enter the LVM part to create the LVM devices for /var, swap and /data. Upon exiting the LVM part, the partitioner has "forgotten" about the usage of the /boot and / parts, meaning I have to re-enter that info. At least it doesn't recreate the filesystems after that. In short, the partitioner shouldn't forget about the non-LVM filesystems when doing the LVM stuff. Thanks, Paul Slootman -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
