A) Use this file at all?
B) Support the 'compat' entries (the only major difference between the
tarball and the distributed file).
this is the default nsswitch.conf (ie, if none is present):
group compat
group_compat nis
hosts files dns
netgroup files [notfound=return] nis
passwd compat
passwd_compat nis
with the "files" backend being used for anything else. i don't know
how compatible the "comapt" feature is with the linux implementation.
