Hi, there are kfreebsd 6.1 images available. All stuff is in SVN, source package and i486 and i686 flavors are available from http://sci.felk.cvut.cz/~salinger/kfreebsd/
Please, could you test them. FreeBSD 6.1 might be suitable kernel candidate for etch ;-)
