It seems that KMS support is being integrated into kFreeBSD in upstream: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTA5MTc and will be present in 9.1 and 10.0. As for userland it should be possible to get a working xserver-xorg-video-intel now, possibly with some patching. This will most likely need to wait until the patches are merged upstream.
