The only difference I can see is that the hang is happening on warm-reboot (i.e. after ' reboot ' command is issued.) Mildly annoying, workaround is to hit the Reset button on the VM or cold-power it on.
I added "no-hpet" to KFBSD /etc/default/grub and ran ' update-grub ' but it didn't fix the issue - still hangs at the same place on warm reboot. All other Vmware guests are working fine, so I'd rather not set that option on the host, which has: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="vga=773 elevator=deadline" > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > Sent: Sun, 09 Sep 2012 12:13:30 +0100 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: Kfreebsd Install of 8-28 mini.iso SUCCESS :) - with > outstanding X issue > > Hi, > > On 09/09/12 03:20, Dave Bechtel wrote: >> BUG: Subsequent ' reboot ' still consistently hangs the system in the >> same place: >> Kernel messages follow: >> [[ >> >> acpi0: <INTEL 440BX> on motherboard >> acpi0: Power button (fixed) >> Timecounter "HPET" frequency 14318180 Hz quality 950 >> ]] > > Does that happen now on every boot?
