In wheezy we have 2 supported kernels but only the kfreebsd-9 one is really working. There are certainly some cases where 8.3 is working as well but In my experience freebsd-utils fail in "interesting" ways often enough to make it rather awkward to use. I'm all for getting *one* kernel for jessie and stick for that!
