I'm not sure what specifically this networkmgr offers compared to
Debian's already very versatile ifupdown, and maybe wpa_supplicant for
wireless LANs.
Slightly off-topic, but that code (which must probably run as root)
makes unsafe use of files in /tmp such as this, and in other places:
