Did a new (fresh) install of hylafax. During configure the modem
configuration script just repeated over and over again.
killing the script and then letting dpkg auto-retry the configure
resulted in a good install (it did some magic with the cache file and
didn't actually rerun the hylafax config script).
Modem is on ttyS0. It is a USR Courier v.Everything and was configured
correctly.

I killed faxsetup and faxaddmodem. the postinst propogated the error up
to dpkg which retried. the postinst then did not try to rerun
faxsetup.

This bug was really nasty: whenever you install on a new install, it
happens that /etc/aliases isn't yet create so faxsetuo asks for setting
up a faxmaster email alias anf get, as responce, a 'no' that was meant
for the next question about starting faxaddmodem.
Fixed in 4.2.1-1
