The edquota manpage reports that final argument(s) must be the
username's to whom the quota is being edited.
If one uses a numerical information in the username the edquota uses
that value as the numerical uid of the user.
Although using a number as a username isn't a recommended pratice, it is
possible, so, in this case, it causes some confusion since "edquota
1000" edits the user with the uid number 1000 and not the user named
1000.
I think that at least warning the users about this "feature" would be
recommended.
