Subject: mc: file associations unusable in VFS

X-Mailer: bug 3.3.7

Package: mc
Version: 4.5.51-11
Severity: normal

File associations based on either filename matching (`shell',
`regex') or file type (`type'; as reported by `file') don't
work in VFS mode. That is, files in archives, over FTP etc,
aren't identified correctly when viewed.

It seems that MC matches the name of the temporary file
(/tmp/fileXXXX something), not the name of the archive/FTP/..
file (whatever.GIF, ...).

type-based extensions aren't checked at all for archives files.

Hello,

Seems to work with my woody (mc 4.5.55).
I close this bug because it seems to be a good old potato bug...

Cheers,

   Ludo.
