Package: sysstat
Version: 4.0.4-1woody2
Severity: minor
File: /usr/lib/sysstat/sa1
I had to search a while to find the reason for cron error messages. It was a
broken log file (i am not sure what had broken it). Anyway this bug report
is about the error message which should be enhanced to name the file which
is broken:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# echo bla > /var/log/sysstat/sa13
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# /usr/lib/sysstat/sa1
Invalid system activity file
Should read "sa1: Corrupted system activity file /var/log/sysstat/sa13"
Greetings
Bernd

I tested the bug with the current sysstat 5.0.6 and it seems the bug has
already been fixed:
rob:~# echo bla > /var/log/sysstat/sa31
rob:~# sar
Invalid system activity file: /var/log/sysstat/sa31
rob:~# /usr/lib/sysstat/sa1
rob:~# sar
Linux 2.6.8-1-386 (rob) 2005-01-31
As you can see, the sa1 command not only does not print any message,
but also overrides the invalid file.
I'm closing the bug report.
Best regards,
robert
