Package: evolution
Version: 1.4.4-1
Severity: normal

Copying the text of an email message into other applications (emacs, KWrite)
loses all line breaks, making the contents unreadable. For example:
---------------------------------
I went to search subjects in the subversion users list and enteredcvs2svn.
That turned up a few items. Then I searched for cvs; thisturned up more. The
problem is that the 2nd search turned up (as first items I saw) somethings with
subject cvs2svn. I think the first search should have foundthem.
-----------------------------------------
That was two paragraphs in the original, and the words that run
together above were separated by newlines.

I think this is a fairly recent development, and it's a major
inconvenience.

Pasting into evolution itself seems to preserve the formatting (the
original messages are plain text, not html).

I tried copying by highlingting alone, and copying by selecting edit |
copy from the menu. I tried copying from the bottom pane of a 3 pane
view, and from a window popped open on a particular message.

Copying between other apps works OK, so it is not a general X problem.

I'm running under KDE 3.1. I suppose this is the responsibility of
some lower level component, but I don't know which one.

evolution, KDE and some other stuff are from unstable, layered atop a
testing system.

I experienced this bug while using Evolution 1.4 and fortunately it has
been fixed with the latest 2.0.3 version.

Thus, I'm closing this bug report.
