The new inetd.conf check doesn't work on my sister. This causes dovecot to
simply not
start anymore on my system.

I run a pops server, but it's not dovecot, but my imaps server is dovecot. when
dovecot looks to see if I'm
running a pops server, it finds one, and decides not to start my dovecot imap
server.

I've just removed the new checks from my /etc/init.d/dovecot, and things are
working again, but I think the check
needs to be reworked just a little.

Perhaps it should only check inetd for the protocols that it finds in
dovecot.conf?

thanks,
mike

Description:
dovecot - dummy package for upgrades to dovecot IMAP and POP3 servers
dovecot-common - secure mail server that supports mbox and maildir mailboxes
dovecot-imapd - secure IMAP server that supports mbox and maildir mailboxes
dovecot-pop3d - secure POP3 server that supports mbox and maildir mailboxes
Closes: 293348
Changes:
 dovecot (0.99.13-5) unstable; urgency=high
 .
   * dovecot-common: typo in postinst resulted in incorrect generation of
keys for first-time installers. Hence urgency high.
   * dovecot-common: In init script, make extra check to make sure an
IMAP or POP3 server called from inetd is dovecot and not some other
     random inferior product. (Closes: #293348)
