Package: kernel-patch-2.4-preempt
Version: 20040321-1
Hi!
Compiling 2.4.24 kernel with the 2.4 preemtible kernel patch in conjunction
with Andrew Morton's lowlatency patch broke my PCMCIA system. The kernel
compiles fine, but no PCMCIA card will be recognized after installing the
compiled kernel image (e.g. no card will be shown in 'cardinfo').
I compiled the same kernel sources several times, unpatched and patched
with the preempt patch, but even patched with the lowlat patch, so I can
say for certain that the preempt patch is causing the problem somehow, but
wasn't able yet to locate the exact reason.
Best regards
Christian Schoenebeck
These are the packages I was using:
ii kernel-source-2.4.24 2.4.24-3 Linux kernel source for version
2.4.24 with Debian patches
ii kernel-patch-2.4-lowlatency 20040516 Reduces the latency of the Linux
kernel
