When xstroke is launched as normal user, the programm complains:

However, now xstroke complains at startup

which is true of course, since normal user cannot write into /var/log.
My suspicion is that xstroke need setuid ?
Quickly setting
chmod +s /usr/bin/X11/xstroke
actually starts logging. This of course -- if really necessary -- has
to be done in the build scripts. Also dh_installlogrotate is probably
needed then.
