Subject: xfce: XFce places intrusive settings in .gtkrc

Package: xfce
Version: 3.8.18-2
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software
XFce installs a .gtkrc file which effects all other gtk apps and can
render some unusable or difficult to use. The example that I give is
PySoulSeek (SoulSeek client written in Python). The gtk style for
lists is set up in such a way that list items which are dimmed
cannot be seen at all. Removing the .gtkrc installed by XFce
solves the problem.
Please ensure that the package is configured in such a way that it
does not intrude on all other gtk apps. If this is an upstream
issue, please inform the upstream maintainer.
Thanks,
-Justin

xfce has been removed from the archive (note we recommend you use xfce4)
and either this bug is now irrelevant, there have been no follow ups to
a reasonable request from the maintainer on this bug for a long time or
I've not seen this bug in xfce4 so I'm closing it.
If you want further justification feel free to discuss it with me.
If you can reproduce them in xfce4 please reopen and reassign to xfce4
(or better the component you think is buggy) or start a new bug.
Thanks,
Simon.
