Recently updated to this version of php4-mysql on powerpc. phpinfo() and
php -m do not show mysql loaded despite extensions=mysql.so being
defined in /etc/php4/apache/php.ini .

Ideally, you shouldn't have an extension_dir in php.ini at all.  If it's
commented out, the compiled-in default will take effect, which should
always be correct.
