Package: xscreensaver
Version: 4.16-1
Severity: important

Hi,

I recently reverted from the DRI.freedesktop.org drivers and packages to the
standard xfree86 drivers, and since then, xscreensaver starts with a smaller
resolution than the one of the desktop.
I.e. Desktop has resolution 1280x1024, and xscreensaver starts with
something that looks like 1024x768, in a sort of window placed rather
randomly above the desktop, not hiding it completely. This happens also
when using the preview in the xscreensaver configuration dialog.
Anything else seems to work as expected.
That's when on the external monitor, notebook's panel is in
deed 1024x768, but it's not active (and this didn't happen before).

I set it important because part of the desktop is still visible and it's
on my professional desktop that it's happening (security-wise not good).

Don't know if it's useful, but chip is: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon
Mobility M6 LY rev 0.

Cheers, Eric

Like jwz already said and as documented in the FAQ this is a bug in
Xfree. Thus it's closed here.
