Package: exim4
Version: 4.50-8sarge2
Severity: normal
The format and content of /etc/aliases is not documented and there
should be a manpage describing its content and how it can be used.
I rescently came across a usenet reference to some content of an
/etc/aliases file that made me curious as to what was possible when
configuring this file. The posters file contained the following line.
'test2: :include:/var/www/web1/html/mailinglists/test2'
I could find no reference to the content of /etc/aliases and dont know
how to use such things as 'include'. I could not even find out what is
expected to happen when aliasing a user to another alias, or to a
non-existing user.
There should be a manpage for /etc/aliases explaining its formant and
possible usage senerios.
