duplicity is one of the last two applications directly depending on
2.3.
There's a comment in of the patches "Use python2.3 as restore won't
work with python2.4", #386749 mentions that restore won't even work
with 2.3? Are non-restorable backups just severity normal?

duplicity does not depend or build-depend on python2.3 any longer, it
uses 2.4.
