Package: lvm10
Version: 1.0.1release-1
Severity: normal

Hello,

I just looked around how LVM works, and I see a problem with our main
kernel-image packages. lvmcreate_initrd does not cooperate nicely with
mkinitrd - instead, it makes an own initrd images which may not load all
neccessary driver modules with Debian's kernels.

I suggest that you look at how mkinitrd work. IMHO, you can make a
script or alternative lvmcreate_initrd program, which is installed as a
helper script in /etc/mkinitrd/scripts. If invoked, it has the
INITRDDIR=$dir/initrd MODULEDIR="$MODULEDIR" environments, so it could

 - copy all neccessary files to $INITRDDIR
 - write the "mount none /proc -t proc" command to > $INITRDDIR/script
file, and all other commands needed to initialise the root LV.

Gruss/Regards,
Eduard.
