Package: sylpheed-claws-gtk2

Severity: important
Start sylpheed-claws-gtk2, welcome dialog appears, enter my IMAP data
and I get a seg fault:

sylpheed works with the same settings.
Using: IMAP on a local server, SSL on receiving server.
(First time, I had sylpheed running at the same time so I repeated the
test without sylpheed and got the same result.)
Not enabling SSL on the receiving server made no difference either.
It appears to be a resolution problem. Entering the fully qualified name
of the local IMAP server fixes the problem. I was using just the machine
name (/etc/resolv.conf is set to search on the local intranet name and
every other network process adds that to any unqualified names). This
shouldn't cause a crash!
sylpheed is set to just the machine name.
Enter foo.domain and both work.
Enter foo and sylpheed works, sylpheed-claws-gtk2 crashes.

thanks
OK, for some reason I didn't get the rest of the messages to this bug
report but I did manage to make some time today to revisit this issue -
and, well, it's disappeared.
:-)
Your thought that this may have been a bug in libetpan would seem to be
accurate. The original bug report quotes:
ii libetpan10 0.48-1 mail handling library
Today, dpkg -l reports:
ii libetpan10 0.48-2 mail handling library
Either way, the bug is now fixed. Closing the report.
Sorry to leave you in the lurch like that with no bugtrace etc., but at
the time I was completely snowed up with Debian-related tasks. I should
have made it clear that I would return to the report when I found some
time but, hey ho, live and learn.
