Package: mozilla-firefox
Version 1.5.0.7(etch)
Dear Sir,
I am not sure if this is truely a bug, but I might as well
report this. This is for Japanese users only. We use Japanese
106 keyboards, and there is a key called either Kanji or
Zenkaku_Hankaku which is used to switch between English and Japanese.
Now I am having the following problem with mozilla-firefox.
When I try to do some search on Yahoo, if I click the field
where you are supposed to type the string, several candidates
(or history) appear first. If I click again then they disappear
and I can type strings. However, if I push the Kanji key when
those candidates are still there, the desktop seem to crash.
The problem is not so severe though because I can recover in the
following manner.
(1) Ctrl+Alt+F1 and login as root, but there is no response
(2) Ctrl+Alt+F7 and Ctrl+Alt+F1 again. At this point, I can enter
commands and I can kill the proceess by ps aux and kill -9 (process
number).
I don't have this problem with the firefox of sarge. I am about to
change to etch and this problem is annolying. So I would appreciate
if someone could look into this problem.
Sincerely yours,
Akihiko Yukie
