Package: hdparm
Version: 6.9-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

This is the output of hdparm -tT /dev/sda:

 Timing cached reads: 1640 MB in 2.00 seconds = 820.03 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 114 MB in 3.05 seconds = 37.43 MB/sec

The 'buffered disk reads' performance is ok (100GB 2.5" disk) but the
'cached reads' performance is too slow (Pentium M 750 1.86 Ghz). Using
the (K)ubuntu live-cd I get +- 1650 MB/sec.

I tried this on 3 different laptops. Any ideas what the reason might be
?

Regards,

Serge

Yes. From the Changelog:
    - fix X2 over-reporting of -T results

So Kubuntu is 'too fast', unfortunately.

Take care,
