package: linux-image-2.6.18-3-686
version:2.6.18-7
severity:minor

When upgrading linux-image to the latest version, I got this :

Paramétrage de linux-image-2.6.18-3-686 (2.6.18-7) ...

Hmm. The package shipped with a symbolic
link /lib/modules/2.6.18-3-686/source
However, I can not read the target: Aucun fichier ou répertoire de ce type
 Therefore, I am deleting /lib/modules/2.6.18-3-686/source

Versions used :
Debian 4.0 Linux lyceum.kateznik.mynet 2.6.17-2-686 #1 SMP
linux-image-2.6.17-2-686 2.6.17-9
libc6 2.3.6.ds1-8

Cheers for the work done :-)

Hi,

Image packages ship with the links that upstream Kbuild
installs, which are source and build links. Often, these links are
dangling on the target machine -- and are thus removed on install,
with a diagnostic that informs the local admin of this action.

This seems to be working as designed -- if you can say what
the bug is, please feel free to file a bug against kernel-package.
