--- Begin Message ---Package: kino Version: 0.92-1 Severity: important I am unable to capture DV with Kino. The capture device in Kino is set to /dev/raw1394 and the user has permissions to access this device. dvgrab works fine, but Kino displays the standard message "WARNING: raw1394 kernel module not loaded or failure to read/write /dev/raw1394!" and keeps writing the message "dv1394 INIT ioctl: Invalid argument" to stderr as long as the Capture tab is open. When I built Kino from source without --with-dv1394 in debian/rules, I had to install an additional build dependency, libiec61883-dev. With that build, both AV/C controls and capture work fine. A side note: trying to read /dev/dv1394/0 will cause a kernel panic (a blinking caps lock LED). This might be due to the interrupt handling logic not being compatible with a dual core processor (Intel Core Duo L2400). I have so far tried this only on self-built kernels (2.6.18.x and 2.6.19.1). Please consider building Kino without dv1394.
